GPS Property Lines and Land Navigation

Use GPS to see your location relative to nearby approximate property lines. Estimate distance and direction to parcel boundaries while you move.

GPS distance and property boundaries are approximate. Do not use as a legal boundary determination or trespass/access tool. Always verify with official records and qualified professionals.

GPS Property Lines โ€” What It Does

AcreBound Pro includes GPS Property Line Mode โ€” a field tool that uses your iPhone's GPS to estimate your position relative to nearby approximate parcel boundaries. As you walk or drive, the app updates your live location on the parcel map and shows your estimated distance and compass direction to the nearest property line.

GPS Property Line Mode is designed as a general reference tool for land navigation and field orientation โ€” not a legal survey. The mode is useful for site visits, field checks, land navigation before official surveys, and understanding your approximate position relative to parcel boundaries.

  • Live GPS position updated as you move
  • Estimated distance to nearest property line
  • Compass direction to nearest boundary
  • GPS accuracy indicator shown at all times
  • Works for residential, rural, and large land parcels

GPS Accuracy and Limitations

iPhone GPS accuracy typically ranges from 3 to 30+ feet depending on signal conditions, obstructions, and device hardware. Parcel boundary data has its own accuracy limitations based on county records. The combination of GPS position uncertainty and approximate parcel data means that GPS Property Line Mode should never be used as a legal boundary determination.

Factors that affect GPS accuracy include tree canopy, buildings, weather, satellite availability, and whether the device has a clear view of the sky. Always monitor the GPS accuracy indicator in the app and treat all distance measurements as approximate estimates.
